About
In the framework of the project “The emerging landscape of digital work in the Humanities in the context of the European infrastructures DARIAH and CLARIN”, the Academy of Athens organizes a workshop on the use of the platform Heurist. Heurist is a data management system developed specifically for humanities researchers.
By the end of the hands-on exercise, participants will be able to design a simple database, which they can then enrich and evolve. They will be able to enter data into their database and perform simple and complex searches.
Instructor: Helen Katsiadakis, historian, Researcher Emerita of the Academy of Athens
The language of the workshop is Greek, but knowledge of English is required to understand the platform interface.

Programme
The workshop will be structured as follows::
- Introduction to the main features of Heurist
- Masterclass, i.e. practical application and exercise in creating databases for new users of the platform
- Creating a new database by participants using their own data.
Equipment
Participants should bring their own laptop with internet connectivity.
